I call this “opinionification”.
The media can’t look at the science because that would validate us and delegitimise sports bans, since the science says our supposed “advantage” is a myth. So it asks people with no knowledge for their opinions, and that becomes the news instead.

"WE WILL NEVER BE SILENCED" anti-trans campaigners shout, while appearing on the front page of every single newspaper and interviewed on all major news platforms in the country repeatedly for the past 10 years. Pretty sure you have the wrong definition of 'silenced', but okay.
