Went to Topkapı Palace to see some Prophetic relics. An interesting experience. I was surprised to see an arm-shaped reliquary for John the Baptist. I also didn’t know there was a beard hair of Abu Bakr! The mantle and flag of the Prophet didn’t allowed photographs

Feels like this for so many “creative” industries. Insane that the conditions of the 2010s look pretty decent by comparison
I've had a lot of conversations with journalists in recent months who feel stuck for a variety of reasons. Mostly, it is because the media ecosystem has largely been hollowed out.

There are some exciting new initiatives, outlets, etc. but stable jobs are harder to come by & conditions are worse
