If you're trying to convince your friends to spend time on Bluesky rather than X, maybe show them this. X is not "the public town square" or about "free speech." It's "just what Elon Musk wants you to see." If you see stuff he doesn't like he'll step in to make sure you don't see it for long.
If you scroll on X, you are only being shown what Elon wants you to see. If you create content on X, no one will see it unless Elon wants them to.

THREAD: Judge Ellis is the first federal judge to review extensive body cam video of DHS's actions in Chicago. She finds that DHS *repeatedly* misled the public and made claims that were disproven by agents' own videos.

I'll go through some of the most egregious ones here.

I never understood the objection to bike lanes. It’s not like drivers give half a shit they exist, so why be so against them? #bikeNYC

There's something kind of sick about this headline. Like they honestly can't see the value of morality in itself, they can only think about things in terms of winning the game.
Imagine looking around America in 2025 and thinking, "What we need less of is morality."

Feels like over time the consensus swung from PFNO being their best album to Keep It Like a Secret. And I agree with that, but that still doesn’t diminish PFNO at all. Twin flawless records.
crazy how built to spill’s “perfect from now on” is still a perfect album nearly 30 years later

A little outside the two year window, but Reince Priebus. Dusty bitch

Thinking of adding myself to Notable Alumni on Wikipedia. “Threw an entire 12 pack of La Croix at a car for running a red light. Coveted by numerous aunties”
Who was in your high school graduating class, +/- two years, that would be of interest?

For example, I took a basketball class and graduated w/all-time 8th man Jud Buechler (look it up), and may have followed Stephanie Seymour (not sure if she still WENT to school after I moved there).

You’re gonna check the boxes for tall, blue eyes, good at math and get a baby with 3 legs who swears in Bulgarian and has a gene for SuperAIDS
Now, the way they’re marketing their services (link in alt).

This is incredibly gross, many things are unquantifiable pseudoscience/correlation, and there’s a reason they’re featuring these traits and not actual diseases genetic counselors screen for with couples.

Politely informed a cloud data provider that I did not have a use for his services, and he asked me "is there not a priority for more data insights?"

That classic sales technique, tell prospective customers they are stupid. I know which platform I will not be using if I ever go to the cloud

There are a hundred reasons why the entire idea is stupid, but the simplest and most important one is that it's illegal. Your premium is based on your age and zip code.

The premiums are predetermined, it is quite literally impossible to "negotiate". Insurance is not sold at the flea market.
Trump wants you to negotiate as an individual with huge multi billion dollar companies

I have brought shame upon my family. I did NOT go to Mac's

The new ramen place was open when I walked by, so I had to stop and check it out. I am not very cultured and I thought ramen was the brick of salty noodles that cost <$1

Turns out y'all be eating soup with a egg in it?
I ate a salad for lunch, which means not only do I deserve to go to Mac’s for some wings, it would be incredibly gauche not to. My hands are tied here folks

I get really pissed off at my own friends and acquaintances sometimes, because people are always asking me why I am so militant about bad drivers, bike lanes, and crosswalks

"Why do you care so much about that? Why do you confront drivers?"

Because people are dying and no one else seems to care
