If Trump pardons Chauvin, Chauvin is still doing 22.5 years for the State of Minnesota Department of Corrections. If Trump pardons Chauvin, consider it a cheap provocation, designed to give him an excuse to abuse peaceful protesters.

Proud to be a Minnesotan.
Trump and Republicans set this up as an unprecedented power grab so they can slash and burn government services on their terms.

I’m a firm NO — on cloture and final passage — on this ‘CR’

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office.

Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc.

Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

Yeah, that’s my “kid” right there. :)
Go figure: my new shirt (and the 2 others I ordered) came in the mail AFTER I had recorded next week's YouTube video. 🤦‍♀️

Shirt reads: DIVERSITY HURTS NO ONE YOU STUPID F*CK

The Democrats on the House Science Committee have set up a website to collect stories from fired federal employees, anonymously if desired. Please amplify. (This helps the lawyers establish standing for bringing legal cases against the administration!)

his name was Sam Nordquist

he was a young trans man who was tortured and abused by 5 people for months until he eventually died

silencing any part of this story is absolute nazi bullshit

fuck the new york times and fuck anyone and everyone who is not emphatically supporting trans ppl rn
hello cis friends
this is what people mean by trans genocide

if a type of person does not officially exist, then any harm against them cannot be measured or reported

this headline change isn't even being caused by an executive order

it's simply the NYT editors deciding we don't deserve to exist

I am very much looking forward to this event and supporting Trans Lifeline!

My take on the brackets is that we are on a scale of 1-5 instead of 1-10. Ok. Whatever.

As someone with 200+ decks to track, the new “list” is worse. I don’t have time for a banned list AND a “game changers” list that everyone can now argue about. I’ll just say I’m a 4, even if I’m a 1. Ugh.

That halftime show was clearly not for my demographic but I admire how well it was done and I got the staging and choreography just fine. Watched the whole thing with a grin. Bravo. Takes guts. And that’s what real art has always been about.

My latest.

As journalists and writers, we have a duty to use language that is accurate and describes our current reality.

I’m no longer going to talk about DEI/Anti-DEI.

Let’s be clear. We are facing racial purges and re-segregation.

If you cannot call it what it is when all in a week: a government removes every mention of a group of people, destroys information about them en masse, bans their discussion in schools, restricts their ability to travel and starts seizing and refusing their official identification, when will you?

For a long time, I’ve tried to explain to fellow Americans how unhelpful + dangerous it is to mock career civil servants on the basis of fashionable cynicism. Now these servants are in crosshairs and their functions seized by unaccountable goons. Enjoy your “efficient” private sector rule, I guess.

Of course, alternative facts and bs theories thrive in an environment that is anti-science and anti-scientist.
I'm not sure how much people outside the science world understand what this means.

NSF grants and fellowships are *extremely* competitive. These were already funded. It's not just new stuff being put on pause; awards already made have been frozen.
It’s official: all funding requests made on Tuesday by postdocs for their salaries have been unilaterally rejected by NSF.

When he mentioned his husband I was angry in Queer. Then when he mentioned he's a recovering alcoholic who wasn't recovering at that time, I went 'Ohhhh'.

It's a good read.

And for the repentant, this is how you atone. You speak up and out.
Keene man arrested for storming the Capitol on Jan. 6 rejects Trump’s pardon
On his first day in office this week, President Donald Trump pardoned all rioters at the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. Jason Riddle served time in jail for his participation in the 2021 riot.
