I told my students today that 4’33” was one of a kind, and there was no point in anyone doing it again. Immediately proven wrong.
Trying to grade over 100 assignments is stressful enough, but the fact that I think more than half of them used generative AI is just demoralizing.

Literally cannot find anything via internet searches anymore because all results are AI slop. Questions about plant care? Slop. Reviews of obscure movies? Slop. Why is my apartment so humid? Slop. Seems the only way to stop participating in this system is just to like. Not use the internet.

Despite this hot nonsense, I'll mention that my panel was well attended and received. I'll also mention that my old guard advisor was very impressed by the turnout, so I will take that as a win.
Hopefully this hot nonsense does not happen again, since, y'know, that's pretty darn bad.
