Greetings! I am not sure how much I will use this platform alongside others, but I am excited to get to explore it!

I design and program software and games, enjoy sci-fi, and do some political activism.

You can also find me at @ZMYaro on most other socials (especially mastodon.social).

AO3 is made for the freaks by the freaks. Kinktober is an annual tradition in fandom. If either of those things offend you, cool, don't use AO3 and don't do Kinktober.

We got enough problems rn than 20yrs writing a Dead Dove fic of their imaginary blorbos; go outside.

A map titled United States High Speed Rail System showing a theoretical high speed rail system in the United States. Some lines also connect north to Vancouver or the Quebec City–Windsor Corridor, or south to Tijuana or Monterrey. Kurt Vonnegut on buying an envelope

RT @[email protected]

Order your groceries. Saves an extra 1-2 hours a week. Compounded, thats 50-100 hours a year. A whole week work of work you gain. I promise that time is more important then the $10 delivery fee.
“Oh, she says, well, you're not a poor man. You know, why don't you go online and buy a hundred envelopes and put them in the closet? And so I pretend not to hear her. And go out to get an envelope because I'm going to have a hell of a good time in the process of buying one envelope. I meet a lot of people. And see some great looking babies. And a fire engine goes by. And I give them the thumbs up. And I'll ask a woman what kind of dog that is. And, and I don't know. The moral of the story is—we're here on Earth to fart around. And, of course, the computers will do us out of that. And what the computer people don't realize, or they don't care, is we're dancing animals. You know, we love to move around. And it's like we're not supposed to dance anymore.”

Does the Left understand how lucky they are that the Right doesn't riot?

As in they disregarded what I marked on the form (which would match my state ID) and assigned me a different one.

In case anyone was hoping to get a corrected passport after the @aclu.org Orr v. Trump order, don't get your hopes up. Despite my following the attestation instructions on the State department website, they just sent me another passport with an overridden gender marker 🙄😑

Take the MBTA, for example—Bostonians now love “Train Daddy Eng”, but it was @transitmatters.bsky.social who put a spotlight on the state of the MBTA before Eng came on the scene, let alone kicked off the surge of repairs!

I really need Some People to stop acting as though your air and water got cleaner, streets got safer, trains got faster, etc. by magic. Activists fought so long and hard to make those happen, and it would be less exhausting if you helped!!

Obviously I talk a lot about bike/ped safety.

But something that is really crazy is how much less safe you *in a car* since 2010.

In spite of all the additional safety technology, vehicle occupants are less safe today than they were 15 years ago.

Every year, more friends talk about how much longer they can afford to stick around.

Why do I want the city to build more housing? Is it because I'm in the pocket of big developers*? Is it because I want to displace longtime residents?

No, it's because I very selfishly want my friends to be able to find places to live near me. I want friends who are a walk/bike/bus away and not […]
