NEAR-Shoemaker Multi-Spectral Imager (MSI) mosaic of the surface of asteroid 433 Eros. This is a 4x2 mosaic, capturing the 10 km Himeros Crater (center) and the 7.8 km Shoemaker Crater (lower right). These two craters are a significant proportion of Eros' size, and likely nearly caused the asteroid to break apart. This image is looking towards Eros' north pole, and the equator is located at the center of Himeros crater.

This mosaic was taken on March 31, 2000 from a distance of ~200 km, and has a surface resolution of 21 m/px.
