In case you missed yesterday, Notepad++ auto-update mechanism was hacked and was delivering backdoored versions for a couple months. Tons of devs use this, uninstall completely what you have, search for the sus files mentioned in article and only download from official site

Arcade conversion to Linux progress: I had my entire setup on an external hard drive and kept everything for the arcade on it, made it fully portable so I could mount as any drive letter. I copied the data off, formatted ext4 and copied everything back on.

Converting my arcade machine over to Linux was the easy part. Trying to properly organize everything I had on it into something resembling a sensible setup where everything is in its proper place is going to be... an effort. On top of needing to fix all the paths for the emulators and... oh boy.

I got the last Windows game I really cared about working through Linux a week ago, so I've taken my ROG Ally X and installed CachyOS on it and have it working like a Steam Deck would. I think it's time to do the same for the arcade machine (though running Attract Mode). Maybe write up a blog on it?

Streets of Fury EX struggling very hard to deal with my screen resolution. I have no idea what the hell I am playing, but I am enjoying it, especially at just $1.

I worked at a game store that became a local gamer hangout growing up as a kid. Things that happened in the store: A woman choked the owner, I almost got electrocuted, saw several fights, ceiling collapsed, angry customer hit me in the face with a copy of Tomb Raider 2, sold 100+ Virtual Boys. 👍

I can't say I pay much attention to what Nintendo does these days as the stuff they do just isn't for me anymore in general, but this is one huge, huge exception. Releasing Zero Racers finally for Virtual Boy is incredible news and I've wanted to see it forever.

I remember as a kid playing Final Fantasy V on a Game Doctor copier device for the SNES. My sister tripped over the console and the game reset. I suddenly had 2 billion gold and a new item showed up in my inventory called "EnFuFu". I had no idea what it did but had to use it in battle to see.
