I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

I’ve no idea what state of mind Tolkien was in when he painted it. But every time I’ve seen it, and I’ve seen it a lot, I get the impression that he was having a really great time. It’s so zestful, in its details & as a whole.

This is worth highlighting, though is complicated by the fact that Disney was considering scuttling their animation unit in at the time and the transition to Xerox machine tracewas viewed as economic necessity. Disney himself, initially optimistic about the technology actually disliked the effect.
the reason 101 dalmations looks like that is because disney incorporated xerography (ie early photocopying technology) into the animation process. rough pencils (by mostly male animators) were copied onto the cels so that disney could fire the (mostly female) inkers. remember that art can lie to you

Insane achievement!! I've always thought Arcade Pit was ahead of its time stream-gimmick-wise and generally underappreciated, and I was so pleased to bring it to GB and expose more people to it! Everyone who loves games should be aware of this thing imo. The grit needed to do it for 10 years is nuts
