I cannot emphasize enough that the White House has no authority to withhold funds from the Smithsonian. It can, however, try to persuade/threaten Congress to reduce future funding.

Die ‚Singularität‘ ist hier nur ein Scheinargument. Begründen müsste Weimer, warum die Opfer eines kolonialen Völkermordes nicht auf der selben Stufe stehen sollten, wie Opfer der Stasi. Das kann er nicht und genau deshalb bleibt das Konzept unvollständig.
