Speaking as a private citizen on a matter of public concern, yes leadership is apparently planning to cut 50% of the faculty at the New School for Social Research in order to eliminate social research and replace scholarship with a trendy MA degree mill For the 21st Century 1/

It sure looks like Russian intelligence attempted to use military drones to assassinate the President of Ukraine inside an EU country.

Looking forward to more thoughts from Belgium on why freezing Russian assets is an escalatory move that might compromise the peace process.

This is truly awful. I have served in the university media board for 3 years and saw how brilliant and committed the student editors of these magazines were to quality and integrity. This is such a loss for the university community at large. www.nytimes.com/2025/12/02/u...

Today was the first time when I, confronted w/ questions about my ostensibly “unaccented” German, said that it comes from practicing for hours in front of a mirror & erasing my own self b/c neither Germans nor Germanists can deal with Slavic accents, & that it’s nothing I’m proud of. Satisfying!

With for-profit academic platforms and virtual databases/links, students no longer identify authors or original publishers (even if you ask them). Everything becomes "image #1/#2/#3" or "article on Wiley, another article on Wiley." Death of the author is too fucking real & not as Barthes envisioned
