assuming all conditions being equal, and as good as possible - level road, dry, good tires, a fully responsive driver, the braking distance at 100mph is like 700ft, almost two football fields. at 60 mph its 310ft, 2/3 a football field
So vague. I agree if you're talking about setting speed limits at 100 mph and disagree if you're talking about setting them at 60. Why should I accept that 60 mph on a highway is the correct speed? Why should someone get to charge me $100 if I exceed that without harming anyone?
