Overreach. Their gerrymanders are going to be stretched pretty thin. Most likely this backfires in the upcoming 2026 midterms blue wave.
"Three to four WEEKS of free rent..."? Any headline editors still employed at @denverpost.com
What's to keep the Republican who now owns Dominion Voting Systems from inserting code that shows you voted for Pritzker on your "receipt" but tallies an actual vote for Vance in 2028? Physical paper ballots can be reviewed by human eyes. www.brennancenter.org/our-work/ana...
Some Good News for Donald Trump: We Already Use Paper Ballots
Around 98 percent of all votes will be cast on paper in the 2024 general election.

I want to once again thank the multiple people who told me they were voting for Cornel West for president because Harris didn't pass their purity test.

Great job. You really helped.
Yeah, 2026 will be fertile ground for Republicans. Chortle.
Maybe he doesn't "plan" to leave, but we will MAKE him leave. On way or the other.
Or those now-diluted Republican-weighted districts flip to D in a wave election. Dems have been outperforming past results by 10-15% in recent elections. What will be the mood in 2026 when no one can get a job and inflation persists?
Schiff is your Senator. Call his office! Or write. (Though with the shutdown they might not respond-I got that when I wrote my Senators in Oregon about the shutdown).

Darth Vader kills his shitty boss then dies⚡️
Trump: "We have Darth Vader. You know Darth Vader, right? Darth Vader is a man who is sitting -- is that Darth? Stand up please. Does everybody know -- they call him Darth Vader, I call him a fine man. But he's cutting Democrat priorities and they're never gonna get them back."
Stopped buying Coke and Pepsi 3-4 years ago. Now it's generic Kroger soda or Shasta.
Gerrymanders backfire in wave elections, and next year’s wave will be immense.
64-year-old here. Nada.
Not a pun, but this is me in Portland, OR.
Aren’t paper ballots good? You fill out a paper ballot, it gets tabulated by a machine and then stored away. With purely electronic voting machines (running secret code) you have no idea if your vote was correctly recorded, and there’s no physical record that can be reviewed or recounted.
I’m 64 and immensely bummed I’ll probably be dead before they get this close again.
Before the sun consumes the Earth?
I was happier 44 years ago when I was a nerdy kid who didn’t give a shit about sports.
I admire your optimism.
What a bizarre piece of set dressing for a science fiction show.

When all this is over and he is dragged out of the people's house by his fingernails, I want to see every tower, every golf course, every hotel bearing his name razed to the ground and erased from history. This abomination. This obscenity of a man.
Use it to stage drag shows.
Do any arms manufacturers in Europe make an equivalent to the Tomahawk cruise missile? It seems like there's zero point in Zelensky trying to curry Trump's favor. Trump will always side with his fellow fascist Putin.
I'd been giving Mills the benefit of the doubt as she's one of the few Dems to actually stand up to Trump to his face, but her desire to retain the filibuster makes her a non-starter.
Andy looks like David Letterman by way of Alfred E Newman.

A few people in colonial costumes complaining about immigrants was novel to NYT editors. Their friends don't do that. A running narrative would be exciting, especially after Obama won big.

Millions rallying against Trump's authoritarian abuses? Bor-ring. NYT editors have heard that argument before.
Here's a gift link to the New York Times' coverage of the initial Tea Party rallies in April 2009 which inspired the media to treat it like a massive movement.

Check out how tiny the crowds were:

Philly: 200
DC: "several hundred"
Boston: 500
Austin: 1,000
Houston: 2,000
