this is all very true, as is the fact that Lowtax was roughly 100x more responsible and concerned with the impact of his platform on society and the world than any social media CEO
Genuinely not unreasonable to say that Lowtax sucked so bad he fucked up the entire planet, and that most of the problems with the internet can be laid at the door of Something Awful

"Market place of ideas" and "debate is healthy" are understandable sentiments but in the end they're thought terminating cliches. It allows you to ignore how often debate get used to spread propaganda because it's easier to lie than it is to debunk a lie.

Democrats strategy of under promise and under deliver is probably not the best idea. Ala, “we’ll do just under the bare minimum to help trans people” and then they’ll out right attack trans people.
Or “we’ll put a couple bucks into helping the homeless” and that help is money to cops
