Tepid Take: Are you a home GM on a time budget? Abstract your city map. Save the detailed mapping for neighbourhoods and areas where things will actually happen. Cities, and towns for that matter, are basically point-crawl spaces and you don't need to burn hours upon hours mapping it all out.

Tepid Take: Are you a home GM on a time budget? Abstract your city map. Save the detailed mapping for neighbourhoods and areas where things will actually happen. Cities, and towns for that matter, are basically point-crawl spaces and you don't need to burn hours upon hours mapping it all out.

Honestly? Both. I grew up in the old ecosystem where unplanned character death was a risk of the game. But given the option, I prefer to play out a heroic end, so that my character will forever drive the fury road, epic and chrome.
Do you ever choose a heroic death in TTRPGs? Or does it have to be accidental? 🎲

Honestly? Both. I grew up in the old ecosystem where unplanned character death was a risk of the game. But given the option, I prefer to play out a heroic end, so that my character will forever drive the fury road, epic and chrome.
I'm still getting into the whole YZE ecosystem, but I'm liking it so far and when I'm ready to bust out of the mutant animal/free robot rabbit hole I'm in with Mutant Year Zero, Coriolis and this campaign are next up. #TTRPG

If I had a nickel for every time I found a Nerf Rayvenfire while trying to find a VHS copy of The Empire Strikes Back at a thrift store, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird it's happened twice!

This is what drove me out of MtG when it was getting started in the '90s. I had a super simple deck, and everyone I had available to play with had multiple decks and played almost every night. I played maybe one evening a week. After a few months of getting my ass beat, I stopped playing. 1/2
This is one of the most fundamental underlying problems of perspective with many, if not most people who play fighting games. “People just want to be good at something automatically” is not correct. It’s factually inaccurate. People don’t expect to be “good.” They just don’t like being vaporized.

1 - It's not a full map of Faerûn. It cuts some fairly noticeable chunks out. Like most of Chult.
2 - The regional breakdown straight up eliminates The Shining South and lumps it in with "Beyond". 1/5
