Chocolate and peanut butter toasties.

I immigrated to West Germany at 11. At the time, I got most of my daily calories from peanut butter, a food that did not exist in WG. I rejected Nutella, but accepted chocolate sandwiches as substitute. I still like those, and these are better.

A sandwich before the second piece of bread is placed on top, showing the bottom piece smeared with peanut butter and topped with six broken sections of a chocolate bar. Bread is white with crusts cut off.

The same square sandwich back on the paper plate after being pressed in a toastie maker, now molded and cut into two triangles with fat middles and crimped, sealed edges, bread toasted unevenly to golden brown. Two bites off an acute corner of one of the triangles reveals a molten ooze of mixed peanut butter and chocolate.

These guys are absolutely going to shoot more people.

They’ve already killed one man, shot a woman, and we’ve seen a pattern of pulling firearms on unarmed people doing nothing violent or illegal over the past few weeks.
