There’s a lot of breathless media articles about lower onset of puberty, but I’ve read refutations of that too. Part of it is inconsistent standards for diagnosing onset, if I recall correctly.

The lower age of puberty thing as also nbd. It’s like sixish months on average, and mostly because there aren’t so many young girls who aren’t getting enough food. A lot of people think of the fifties as this golden age, but there was a LOT of poverty, and being poor looked different then.

I can kinda get why a journalist may be less familiar with the actual law, and more just have internalized rules for being extra cautious.

A lot of outlets, the goal is probably gonna be less “win when sued” and more “don’t get sued in the first place.” Unfortunate, really, but I think likely.

Religion is power, & every tradition has its Rev. Dr. Kings as well as its Torquemadas. Power is used for greatness and evil, here as everywhere.

Sure is fun seeing prominent members of the GOP going “No one cares about the Nazi group chat,” Black, Jewish, female, etc. conservatives responding, “We do though. This is a problem. We aren’t a Nazi party,” and then a bunch of Nazis going, “Yes we are.”

This always gets me. People love to point to reporters from the past they admire and attribute that media landscape to the FD without reading what those reporters actually said about it.

Cronkite is the one I see the most. He hated the FD!

I’m not trying to bust your balls here, but you’ve got to consider that when a rabbi is discussing Jewish teaching, hijacking the conversation for Jesus may not be super welcome, you know?
