Historians do what they do because they are passionate and love what they study. The fire that burns in my wife’s eyes when she’s discovering something in the depths of microfilm is magnificent.
Also, if you don’t like reading works in your field you probably shouldn’t be a historian? It is very much your job to do that, and if you don’t like it then unfortunately it’s simply not the job for you.
This is one of the reasons I remain horrified by seeing @historians.org suggest "ways to use gAI" that included this:

Even if you don't like the MCU, you'll like MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios. It's a fun, fast read. I continually tear pages from my copy of X-Men #410 and burn them in sacrifice for a hopeful sequel.

Fun fact. Glen Close performed all her scenes on an 18" platform for this film. But seriously, I love seeing stage craft like this.

I appreciate it's in the original, as I cannot bring myself to watch the sequel anymore due to a momentary cameo.
John Williams’ “Somewhere in My Memory” is so damn good. For me it has transcended its original identity as a piece of film score and has been elevated into the canon of holiday-themed music.

I gotta believe that when you take the core age demographic of people who watch the Oscars and overlap it with the core age demographic who use Youtube, in the center are maybe a few hundred people.
