I think there were two or three smiles across three seasons of Dark and most of those were in the first scene

Art is supposed to make you uncomfortable. Unless it’s art like They Live, which kicks ass

As the guy in the White House has recently insisted, today is Columbus Day. What to do about it, given Indigenous peoples’ entirely merited dislike of the whole thing? A couple-three ideas that I've been thinking about. 1/

The 1/1 scale SAFS statue that appeared in Model Graphix in the late '90s and in various Maschinen Krieger events in the early 2000s is up for auction. You can see for yourself here: auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/d...

Excuse the quick and dirty scans, but if you can get your hands on the magazine, you'll be treated not only to Plum's 1/32 Shira-DOW kit dolled up to the nines, but scratch-built Republic aircraft and more. The 1/700 scale scratch-built Prince of Minadan carrier is especially sumptuous.

I found it interesting Target and Walmart don’t list non-bundle Switch 2s as being in stock on their website, but they did have them on the shelf at those locations

The Emperor would understandably & rightfully seek to end my family line, and would not succeed as I am a time traveller, but his forces’ attempt is guaranteed to be spectacular

These are my favorite kinds of AI search results. I'd like to think that one percent of Lake Erie vanishes with each return like this.
A fake screenshot of someone querying "the name of a local business (I just want to see their hours)" on Google. The AI overview responds with:

Oh, shit. Don't panic. We'll get through this. Here is what your mysterious query might actually mean.

• Local businesses tend to have names: This helps people distinguish different businesses from each other. For example, Target can't be also called "Home Depot" because that would create confusion.

• Businesses that are local take less time to reach than businesses far away: If choosing between two businesses, keep in mind that if one of them is in a different state or country, it will take you longer to get there.

Starting in Super Formula is respectfully ballsy though. In a way a great place to start as there’s no place to hide

I hope his switch is influential. Verstappen go to Indycar bitch!

Kalle Rovanpera’s switch to single seaters is good news. WRC couldn’t survive another era of domination, it’s great to see one of true great motorsport wunderkinds diversify their ambitions, and we get to see Finland’s Shark-Eyed Freak Child Soldier Experiment has…a lot going on in there

Front Mission did this very well, not just in the plausible countries but the specific settings of quietly contentious demilitarized zones. It’s a great out for near-future fiction as opposed to “shadowy cabal scheming world domination,” the stakes are too stupidly high

Tomino went on a “rush trip” to NYC to talk to him about it. Apparently he wrote the lyrics to a prior Sedaka tune www.gundamunofficial.com/production/z...

I wonder how much of his writing OP lyrics was a “Gene Roddenberry writing lyrics to the Star Trek theme for royalties” situation

Every speed limit sign in Indiana is written in code that communicates a secret, higher number. The locals ensure this True number is vigorously practiced

I drove across all of Kansas today and the only two cops I saw had pulled over the only two speeding cars I saw (from Texas and Alabama respectively). What a well behaved state!

I also appreciated Kansas’ “that seat belt looks good on you” signs when other states tend to frame their slogans as threats

In the movie Sayonara Jupiter there’s a scene where dudes are flicking overhead switches to fire up their spaceship and it has a closeup as he hits knobs next to the words KORG POLYPHONIC SYNTHESIZER

It‘s possible. There were a couple scenes the 3D had a weird lenticular flickering effect and I learned that means they fucked up the calibration on it and should’ve been easily avoided
