i do a double take every time i see a stat like this, but i think it's just that the team that hosts game 1 is usually the better team and can absorb a game 1 loss better.

that has to be a ground-out.

it's not a flyout, a flyout is when someone catches the ball before it hits the ground or fence, that's right in the rules

people are starting to get pissy about if that play is a "grounds into double play or not," but i'm pretty sure it is.

imagine the exact same play, but instead of the throw going to the plate, it goes to first because the runner didn't run the play out. how do you score that?

it's wild to watch a play like that and then know that you're watching how it will be adjudicated by history in real time. if the brewers win this series, it's an absolute all-time moment, if not it's a weird little oddity that will slowly fade out with the memory of the people watching tonight.

No, I've never seen that before.
No, it didn't happen because I will Strange But True madness to happen.
Yes, we just saw a "grounded into double play" on a ball that looked like a possible slam over the CF wall.
And the catcher recorded both forceouts.
