Just like that study that stopped studying brain development after the age of 25 eh?

Changes caused by HRT pretty much stop after two years.

Coincidentally, we only had the funding to study the changes caused by HRT for two years.

I’m pretty sure there’s no correlation between these two things though, right?

We could be super efficient and keep toddlers in a box until they’re age 25, say, with ChatGPT to teach them everything they need to know

Wow. Just wow.

"Students pay premium prices for information that AI now delivers instantly and for free. A business student can ask ChatGPT to explain supply chain optimization or generate market analysis in seconds. The traditional lecture-and-test model faces its Blockbuster moment."

I want to see the Venn diagram for "people who like Boris Johnson" and "people who ask for ChatGPT's advice on everything and completely believe it", labelled "The oafish credulity singularity" and carved somewhere uncomfortable on Boris Johnson

We need to talk about how social media algorithms push moms down a slippery slope of distrust.

From "Are my kids getting enough support in school?" To "Maybe I should homeschool." To "Maybe modern medicine is bad."

I've seen this first-hand in research I'm doing on parenting apps. 1/🧵

If I was gonna write a dystopian story about consumerism I'd probably stay away from something as on the nose as "they convince you to shave your pubes, which is a free and infinite resource, so a billionaire can sell you back a worse plastic version" but I guess reality isn't held to my standards

Once American democracy made it possible for a Black man to be elected president, American conservatives decided that it had to be destroyed

While Vought traces the “leftwing revolution” back a hundred years, to the progressive era, there is no question that the election of Barack Obama was a radicalizing moment for him and many key thinkers on the radical Right - as were the multiracial protests in the summer of 2020.

Say it with me everyone: "Why won't Labour get out of the race!? They're enabling Reform!"

A… remarkable @survation.bsky.social poll out today of voting intentions in Caerphilly ahead of next week’s Senedd by-election

Reform 42%
Plaid 38%
Labour 12%
Conservatives 4%
Greens 3%
LibDem 1%

It is remarkable just how badly Labour has totally hollowed itself out at every level and where it was within its power to at least mitigate the damage, they've chosen to aggravate every wound.

What Trump is doing is very bad. But I want to push back against some of the numbers here.

ICE did not hire 10,000 agents. It WANTS to. That it keeps running ads suggests it is struggling. And when it does, it seems to cannibalize local police, who don't like that.

More significantly:

"(Officers) refuse to recognize local or court authority. A judge says you can’t arrest journalists. Watch us. A judge says we have to wear badges. No. State law says we can’t drive around in unmarked vans? Too bad. Elected officials who want to see what is going on should prepare to be arrested."

Marie McGowan, 89, has died 3 years after a brutal assault during which she was put headfirst into a rubbish bin. Her attacker, Alex Bailey, believed she was "a man dressed as a woman."

This is the world the transphobes are creating "to protect women."

RIP Marie. share.google/PFaI5YTh9tBw...

One of the more interesting images from the NTSB report on the Titan submersible implosion.

Imagine you work in data recovery. You've got data off devices dropped from heights, driven over, immersed in water, lightly incinerated... then someone from NTSB rocks up and leaves this with you...
Image of "a large electronic and metallic mass" taken from the NTSB report on the hull failure and implosion of the submersible Titan. The description reads:

"The NTSB laboratory received a large electronic and metallic mass from the United States Coast Guard on November 13, 2023. The NTSB was working on behalf of the USCG. The mass was transported in plastic storage container. The mass weighed approximately 100 lbs. The mass was a compilation of compressed metal, compressed plastic, compressed electronic components and compressed other materials. The mass exhibited signs of thermal damage without typical signatures of having been exposed to open flame. A section of the mass contained polar fleece material."

We had *years* of “finally Labour are listening to the public and changing to become what the people want”. Look at the polls, really appreciate how popular they now are. To whom were they listening, to have earned all that praise? *Who* wanted this. Was it the public? Was it the people.
