Apparently the CIA has some very straightforward advice for destroying leftist revolution;

Bureaucracy. Make every meeting too long. Add too many rules. Make the talking stick an actual stick.

Everything, ever, must take longer.

Oh, ew. The director is on board with these chud talking points, like still commendable to create art even if it's unprofitable, but they're also anti-art having a message, despite the film still having a message and the books it's adapting very clearly having a message.

Like no slight to Primitive War. Passionate people made the film they wanted despite the trends and the likelihood of it being a loss; that's art but it is not this massive blow to Hollywood.

The only lesson here is that the "core" audience often ain't as "core" or essential as they think they are.

I'm seeing Primitive War get used as an anti-Hollywood culture war talking point and it's wild to me.

Y'all didn't show Hollywood what the "real" audience wants. Primitive War made $1.2 million on a budget of $7 million. JW Rebirth made $867 million; all you did was justify Hollywood ignoring you.
