It is ok not to follow me if you don't find my writing of any use.
During downtime players form no memories. Sure, they might imagine how things went, or there might be a DM-given paragraph of how things went, but ultimately downtime is extremely blank.
I increasingly want to use a quick lyric game to fill these gaps. Not to determine outcome but make it to exist.

Increasingly it appears to be that sorcery in one of my games works by VtM principles, as turns out sorcerers can diablerize each other. The process isn't as easy as just having a snack in VtM and is pretty dark for everybody involved but in a game with only 7 lvls a temptation of power is strong.

In much less exciting news one of my best maps, Melrose, along with the map for Tyn Mava seems to be lost or stolen. I took them out for Summer Lego Jam 2 but forgot to put back, and all this time thought I did but now they seem to be just gone.
July to August were so mind-muddy I am not surprised.

I had too much fun making a little count-down verse in style of "And then there were none" to be (hopefully at some point) sung by shit-talking devil-god about questors fighting an evil aristocrat lady (and losing terribly).

Look upon the cowards and remember well they want you dead. They want you to suffer while they line their pockets with your blood, sweat and toil.

There is no wall befitting such lowly collaborators to the authoritarian in charge. Let'em slither to the curb and know the boot is too good for them.
Trump is filling his government with Nazis, consolidating authoritarian power, and eroding democracy at every chance.

And yet these 86 House Democrats voted for a right-wing messaging amendment to say that the real authoritarians are the socialists.

Pathetic.

Our sense of reality is inter-subjective, social. It relies on feeback from other people. Without that, our false thoughts go uncorrected. They accumulate, build on each other.

The powerful risk this kind of madness when they surround themselves with sychophants. We all need peers to stay sane.

PSA of a sort:
"Vine is coming back in name and format along with an anti AI pledge, but it’s funded as a subset of a company who is building and training code for new AI models. They want non-AI uploads so they have a pure training sample. Do not engage."
(I trust this person on this opinion)

This is the most ruthless act of union busting in the history of the UK games industry. Yesterday, @rockstargames.com unfairly fired over 30 employees for union activity.

We won't back down, and we're not scared - we will fight for every member to be reinstated.
BREAKING: Yesterday Grand Theft Auto VI maker Rockstar Games fired dozens of people, all of whom were involved in union efforts. A British union calls it "blatant and ruthless" union-busting. Take-Two Interactive says it was due to misconduct.

Another one bites the dust.
That AI is optional (as of now) means that former Affinity is still full of it, it just gives you an option to pretend it is not here.
Affinity should not get a free pass just because it is pretends it is still good.
If it was still good it didn't have to rely on AI crap.

Of course my contribution (*) to the language that specifically aims to be positive and minimalistic is to define a new word for a negative feeling.
(kata, which to me now means 'fatigue', 'tiredness')
I wish such personal word would mean something nicer but alas.

(*) not a real contribution

Not about TTRPGs but nevertheless a very interesting article.
To me browsing without adblocks is like drinking unsafe water.
I got distracted while working on some other projects and instead wrote a lot about the horror of experiencing the internet without an ad blocker

Just seems nonsensical to mock the aesthetic idea of a sensitive, feminine, progressive man instead of judging a man by his actions. There's a reason the "anti-performative-male" response just means replicating the manosphere aesthetic.

We just reinvented the Fake Geek Girl for men.

Finally found 'Dhalgren' in a paperback I can take with me everywhere.
'Nova' was beautiful, so I have my hopes for 'Dhalgren.'

My Monday-or-Wedn. game is on hiatus for a while, and I am catching myself on the impulse to start another one: something low-preparation and a bit cheesy, such as a novice band of glam-rockers trying to get through the dungeon* to get a Big Deal if they manage to actially perform for Dread Lord.

(Just realized I will have to make "We have 'Planescape' boxed set at home" because barring some kind of miracle I'd never be able to afford the original (AD&D one) in nice conditions.
There will be a time to glue some boxes then.)

Two of my favourite settings (the original 'Planescape' for AD&D 2nd ed., and 'Malfeas' for Exalted 2nd edition) both started as more broad strokes places, less detailed but vibrant, and refined years later. I've read settings _designed_ to be esoteric and strange, and I rarely even remember them.

How to make your megadungeon feel like dark souls step 1: make a roster of extremely weird fucked up knights with a strong visual themes matched to their tragic backstories and scatter them around the dungeon
Step 2: refuse to elaborate when asked about them.

Unrelated to anything but watercolours: still upset that Kremer New York shop closed last month. Now it is only the international delivery and everything is in euros (i.e. about twice as expenseive.) Their Satingold is the best metallic watercolour gold I ever used.
