Increasingly sure this whole fiasco is in fact a long-running postmodern art/immersive theatre project designed to give us all something to laugh at in these difficult times. Perhaps put on by the Judean Popular Front's theatre collective.
Huge cheers as a speaker at Your Party conference shouts "no witch hunts, no expulsions" on stage and calls for all members of other socialist/communist groups to be allowed into the party (many have been booted out in recent weeks)

Many are astounded Corbyn's allies have expelled many Trotskyists.

#5pmFriday & it’s time to process the week’s events. Everything, whether it was a success or a struggle, comes to an end. The real victory lies in taking time to learn & grow from it, & to be grateful for the experience, before you reset for the week ahead.
Still we rise!

On the Factor Fexcectorn and autism bicycle AI slop study: I got an answer from Springer Nature this morning that this scientific paper will be retracted! 🧪

Riding the Autism Bicycle to Retraction Town
Does anyone *really* know their Factor Fexcectorn?

Apparently @nature.com are going to retract this paper, but will take some time.
I’m just gonna tag myself as «runctitional» which I define as the antonym to «runcational» which is a person dedicated to the removal of weeds:

www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/r...

«runctitional» is therefore the technical term for a collector of embarrassing bugs and ridiculous architectures.
Hey @nature.com, have you got an explanation for how the hell THIS happened? & especially why you accepted a paper with such a bizarre piece of genAI slop in it?!
& more to the point, why we should take you seriously at all going forward?

Hey all, do I have any UK based concept artists following me (or who knows anyone) who would be up for a long term 22 month contract working on Dragonwilds at Jagex? Remote with a very occasional day in office in Cambridge. Development experience and fantasy genre work is a must. Mid level role.

I keep hearing people coughing in public, trains are filled with people covering their noses with handkerchiefs. It's evident that we're in the middle of a flu and covid wave.

Humans are excellent at anthropomorphising _anything_ for companionship.

We collectively understand why Tom Hanks' character in Castaway makes a 'friend' out of a basketball and becomes attached to it. We also understand that this doesn't mean the basketball is sentient.

Learnt another Britishism that Americans get confused by…

“Are you going to have a lie-in tomorrow?”

Response was resoundingly “where am I going to get a lion?!”

Apparently it’s just called “sleeping in” and it’s a verb not a noun!

absolutely massive news from the EU's top court! while it doesn't force every EU country to perform same-sex marriages, it *does* require them to recognise same-sex marriages from other countries the same way they recognise other foreign marriages

it's a big step!
