The thing about Trump saying it’s fine for Mamdani to call him a fascist is that he genuinely thinks all of this is kayfabe, just as he could insult Rubio or Cruz but still work with them. It’s not possible for him to imagine other people being sincere about anything.

In the grand scheme of things, this meeting was Tremendous Content, and like most Tremendous Content, it's Coke Zero politics. Mamdani comes out way ahead, Trump made a fool of his viziers and his strongest soldiers, and none of this will matter next week.

I think it's possible for us to have a world where we all live in harmony, where everybody prospers, and where we work together.
But, frankly, if that were impossible, and the only way to fix the world would be to destroy the lives of everybody I love?

One place where I seem to differ from a lot of the broadly online lib conversation is that I would much rather tax and redistribute than do weird shit with regulations. Just hose the rich and give the poor money, we don't need to pass a law mandating headphone jacks on phones or whatever
