I’m still not over this number, half of their users scored them at 12.6 out of 100 (!) or LESS.

I’m trying to think of software more universally despised by their users.

This is such an epic fail.
Pun intended.
Listen, it’s a big deal if your users quit their jobs to avoid using your software, but the absolute devastation of finding out the MEDIAN satisfaction score from your users on a scale from 0-100 is 12.6 💀

Amazon plans to lay off 30,000 employees (8.5% of corporate employees) as part of its effort to reduce bureaucracy and increased AI use.

AI technology isn’t even that good yet and it’s being blamed for layoffs. I wonder how much of this is also about the economy with AI as a convenient scapegoat?
Exclusive: Amazon targets as many as 30,000 corporate job cuts, sources say
Amazon is planning to cut as many as 30,000 corporate jobs beginning Tuesday, as the company works to pare expenses and compensate for overhiring during the peak demand of the pandemic, according to three people familiar with the matter.

In all the endless discussions of LLMs, there’s a point that is, on one level, obvious, but that I feel does not get sufficiently foregrounded: LLMs are transforming material that people have put up on the internet.

When @wired asked me to look at Silicon Valley in the age of Trump, I saw the crash of the idealism that originally drew founders--and me--to the tech revolution. Selling out the dream will not serve those moguls (or us) well. www.wired.com/story/silico...
