I know the pacing of “Heated Rivalry” has been discussed at length, but how in the hell was episode 5 only 56 minutes? That was like 3 movies of story in less runtime than a feature length film. And weirdly it didn’t feel rushed at all.

I understand it happens because of the way the POS works, but seeing my sliced bread loaf as "no - not sliced" on the bakery receipt is quite funny.

My very first job in high school was as an assistant for Estill Development Alliance (though in a very different capacity). It’s great to see some old friends’ continuing to do good work for my home town.

One of the weird byproducts of professionally watching commercials too closely is that you notice things like an actor’s wearing the same shoes you bought last month in a commercial that isn’t for shoes.

Gotta love when you kinda forgot that you crowd funded some new games a while back and new toys appear on your porch the week before Christmas!

Decided to try to knock out some Christmas shopping online, so far I’m at about a 3:1 ratio of treats for myself vs gifts for others.

It’s a super cold morning, so I decided to bake some muffins to get some supplemental heat from the oven. Stay cozy, everyone.

How is it that I simultaneously feel like I never see my friends anymore, but then when I look at my calendar we’ve done something almost every weekend for the last 3-4 months?

🚨 QUESTION PROMPT🚨

What was your first automobile?

My first car was my parents’ 10-year-old 1988 Mercury Cougar in Medium Sandalwood. It was super fancy because it had a digital speedometer that I’d switch from miles to kilometers to make it feel like I was driving faster.

Is it just me, or does everyone mentally hear “PLUR1BUS” like Rihanna singing “Disturbia”?

I happened to turn on the stream about :30 before this happened and saw it live. I knew this wouldn’t go well for her, but DAMN!

NOEM: We haven't deported veterans

Little tip for those on the latest iOS: If you open an image and long press on it, you can turn it into a sticker that you can use in Messages to reply to friends. I see this one coming in handy.

Saw this video of Tristan Harris on Diary of a CEO sharing what AI-tech bros have shared regarding their motivations pursuing this technology. It’s horrifying.

These tech ghouls have us all on a suicide mission because of their EGOS. 🫠

Went with some old friends to see the “Merrily We Roll Along” pro-shot this evening. It was SO GOOD. If you have a chance to catch it in theaters, you really should go.

As a small town City Clerk, I can tell you this is 100% accurate. I was on my condo board, met our mayor who knew I knew how to take minutes, started going to city council meetings. 6 months later they asked me to take over for the outgoing Clerk. Show up; it works.
I really can't emphasize enough that if you care about local politics, all you gotta do is show up. Just a regular schmegular person showing up. Literally just show up consistently in person and within a remarkably short amount of time, you will have a shocking amount of influence.

Well, if he really wants to part with that money, how about he pay some fucking taxes for a change? That’d be an easy place to start.

If the past year has shown me nothing else, it’s shown me that you have to aggressively seek community. Maybe you don’t change the world, but maybe you make the lives of the 400 people that live around you better. That’s WAY easier, and in many ways more valuable.

I’ve been watching a lot of reaction videos of “Clue” lately, and now my inner monologue while selecting a doughnut is voiced by super campy Tim Curry, “would you like chocolate? Perhaps raspberry, or lemon?Bourbon caramel. Strawberry. Or Cinnamon Roll?”

Obviously this is purely anecdotal, but I went out to get doughnuts this morning and there was almost no traffic around one of Louisville’s major shopping centers at 7:00 AM on Black Friday. Maybe early shopping isn’t so much a thing nowadays.
