Sad news: someone stole baby Jesus from our anti-ICE nativity. But vandalism cannot stop us. We just adapt and keep on critiquing this administration’s cruelty on immigration. Where’s baby Jesus? We don’t know. He is being detained in a labyrinthian hellscape where his loved ones cannot find him.

Detention healthcare is big business. And there have been many, many lawsuits alleging that these companies cut corners to squeeze cents.
That’s not to say that all government-run facilities are great. Far from it. Legislatures also have an incentive to cut corners to make a budget work.

As far as I can tell, RFK Jr.'s latest antivax stunt runs counter to the WMA Declaration of Helsinki. Withholding HepB vaccination clearly does not meet any definition of clinical equipoise. Doing it anyway, overseas, is straight up colonialist medicine.

For my 20+ years of translating/editing medical documents, the CDC website was the gold standard for terminology & citations. Recently I called their public info no. to report sections that had been taken down & the woman who answered the phone burst into tears. I can't imagine what it's like there.
