It's okay for some campaign promises to be about optics rather than policy. "We're going to bulldoze his monument to himself on Day One and rebuild the East Wing" would be a very good one for 2028.

Ugh I am really mad that my body chose this long weekend to have an inflammation/pain flare-up. I was able to do just a fraction of what I wanted to, I had to cut all my trips out of the house short because I was just aarrgghh.

Of course this is not just the fault of Trump but of all the previous administrations, including Grandpa Biden and Sainted Obama, who didn’t bother to fill in all these cracks and loopholes because they too wanted to be able to deport people at a whim!
“Tom was super excited to become a U.S. resident, so much so that he had insisted on a cowboy-themed wedding.” But then the German robotic engineer was arrested for a visa overstay based on a policy he had no way of knowing existed. Completely Kafkaesque. "We feel like we were tricked.”

I am so tired of this. When are we deporting Trump and his minions to the bottom of a pit and throwing the ICE thugs in after them.
If you are married to a US spouse, your temporary visa (usually for 3 months) will lapse before your case is processed. The government allowed you could stay in the US while awaiting case processing. Now the Trump admin is saying that is a visa overstay and arresting the spouses.
