A small but deeply meaningful local project - digitising issues of 90s Scottish trans magazine The Tartan Skirt so all of us can access them.

It's a really modest fundraising target with a significant outcome, please share or contribute if you can!
Donate to Help The Tartan Skirt Go Digital, organized by Julia Gordon

"I like the film Carol a normal amount," I used to say while still insisting I was most certainly bisexual and not at all a lesbian.

My first reaction was: Have they been informed of the terms of service with regard to data privacy?

My second was: Wow, the children's books that I thought were overly anthropomorphizing squirrels are actually pretty life-like!

I lock the 12yo's phone down at 10pm every night. This evening, she asked if I could please keep her notes app available bc she's writing a fanfiction and would like to stay up working on it.

I love her.

Baltimore friends -- looking for recommendations for window replacement! Any locally-owned faves you've worked with and liked?

Other milestone gifts that I love to give:
- a slotted spoon to new parents with a note that says to keep it near the bathtub. they'll know when they need it.
- a couple rolls of dollar coins or an envelop of $2 bills for parents of preschool kids to have on hand when it's tooth fairy time.
A gift for new homeowners: a book of measurements of everything that you could possibly want measured in your new home.

Weird how my complicated relationship with the concept of womanhood evaporates the moment WOMAN by Kesha comes on.

Had an English teacher in high school who really struggled to string together coherent questions when we were dissecting books and film, so she stopped trying and would simply make a statement and punctuate it with, "How come?"

Loved her. Think of her every time I'm not making sense. How come?

If you live in the Cities, an easy way to help immigrant families in hiding is: laundry! Laundromats are ICE magnets, so people without washers need help.

The People’s Laundry will drop off laundry to your door to wash and dry and pick up a few days later:
