chatgpt is just like a professor! who cares if sometimes it just tells you untrue things and you have no idea which they are? it's cheaper! professors are worthless! expertise has no value! you should definitely develop expertise anyway though! yayyyyyyy! *flailing kermit arms*

Wow. Just wow.

"Students pay premium prices for information that AI now delivers instantly and for free. A business student can ask ChatGPT to explain supply chain optimization or generate market analysis in seconds. The traditional lecture-and-test model faces its Blockbuster moment."

it's embarrassing for us as a country that this needs to be said. *obviously* the remedy for racism involves race.
angryblacklady.blacksky.app
why are we pretending that race shouldn't be predominant when remedying racism?

it's the same problem I've always had with affirmative action being about "diversity" rather than quotas.

AFFIRMATIVE ACTION SHOULD BE ABOUT QUOTAS.

REMEDYING RACISM IN VOTING SHOULD CONSIDER RACE PREDOMINANTLY.

very annoying that we had to endure about a month of these people going “calling us nazis hurts our feelings” to then immediately be revealed saying nazi shit and going “yup, we want gas chambers. so what libs”

that's just a weakness of corporate media, though. not unique to comic books.

he was one of my favorites as a kid! i didn't start reading until after he died so i knew what was coming but even so. loved him. him, kitty, and illyana were my favorites.
trulyaliem.bsky.social
yeah i know. i'll read it after it's done like i did with all the others. but i am not optimistic.

also comics characters should age normally. this is a generational art form and the characters i grew up with should stay the same age relative to me, stories and personalities maturing as time goes on.

there is no world where kate pryde should be younger than real-world me.

What's an opinion about X-Men that'll get you sent to jail? Is Jean really interesting or really boring? Should Logan have stayed dead? Do you think a certain x-mens outfit is positively horrendous even though people seem to love it?

The Brood Saga is better than Dark Phoenix imo 🤷

which did the setup a disservice too. like if that's how the story ends then that date night is a poignant romantic moment with subtle foreshadowing.

now it's just "hey did you know that phoenix is powerful? no really, like mega elite super powerful 2000!"
trulyaliem.bsky.social
...that would have been so much better, wow.

especially because they set it up with her holding back his eyebeams on date night earlier in the same story. they could have avoided the whole shi'ar/moon thing, which always felt like a hat on a hat to me.

this is my headcanon now.

ramsey, more than xavier or magneto, could have solved the problems facing mutants.

but that would have eliminated the mutant oppression metaphor at the heart of the x-men.

which they sorta did with krakoa later anyway. and resurrected doug was a big part of that. "ahead of his time" then maybe.
trulyaliem.bsky.social
end of inferno, my bad. forgot the name of the "limbo invades nyc" storyline.
trulyaliem.bsky.social
as a kid i was a huge fan of the new mutants, with doug and illyana as my favorites.

and yes, this. illyana's story ended. tragically, but it was a powerful ending and they should have let it stay there. but they undid her death *and* her choice at the end of hellfire. such disrespect.
trulyaliem.bsky.social
doug ramsey was always the most powerful mutant, not in terms of combat ability (though he did catch a bullet for rahne sorta successfully), but in his ability to enact major societal change.

marvel was just (correctly) not interested in telling the stories in the 80s his gifts lent themselves to.

the way i see it, being exposed as a racist antisemitic piece of shit is a skill issue. you have to suck real bad to make wanting to hurt other people that much of your personality.

bunch of fucking losers, all of 'em. every setback gets blamed on others? take some personal responsibility, dipshit.

*incredibly* stupid times.
angryblacklady.blacksky.app
Just so everyone is clear, the main issue in the Supreme Court voting rights case tomorrow is whether it's racist against white people to enforce the Voting Rights Act.

I'm dead serious. We live in incredibly stupid times.

i genuinely can't tell if acab includes columbo. he might be the exception.

Happy Columbo’s Day
Screenshot from Columbo. He his talking to his dog, which is sitting is the drivers seat of a car. “Okay, I’m gonna put you in charge. You take care of the car. You’re a responsible dog. When I get back, if the car’s okay, I’ll give you another cookie.” “If the car’s gone,” “I’ll give you another cookie anyway” “because I love you.”

not that she isn't still adorable but holy shit emery was cute as a kitten.

my baby.
A grey cat staring at something above and to the left of the camera. Her eyes are wide and her ears are pointed forward: she is clearly excited/happy. The same grey cat, seven years later. She's not quite as energetic but she's curled up and looking at the camera-wielder with a slight squint of contentment.
