I currently don't have a job. I do have free time and a potential audience and a lot of old video games. I'm considering doing charity streams. Maybe once a week. Thinking trans lifeline, gazawi aid, anti ice. I would like input on times/charities/collabs.

Because i hate to break it to you, there are medical professionals who are out to make a quick buck and don't give a shit if you live or die. We need to educate ourselves, have nuanced discussions, and drive away bad actors.

And it is her experience with back alley abortions and addiction and mental health that elevated all of us. Just because people will be wrong about things is not an excuse to never have these conversations.

But saying that people do not get a medical opinion.... Norma McCorvey, was not a medical professional, was a liar and acted in bad faith throughout her public life. She also the pseudonymous Roe in Roe vs Wade. Without her we wouldn't have had abortion rights.

I think two independent problems are tied up. People speaking in bad faith is an acute issue. The actions of bad faith activism from the likes of Collective Shout have caused an international dialogue about how governments and companies interact and how to remove such groups from the equation.

Heck, even invoking trauma and enabling behaviors. By your own admission you are not qualified to speak on this. I invite you to reconsider your position.

Sometimes (often) the debate has to be "I don't know, and you don't know" and that's good. But we also need these dialogues to happen.

Their discussion of doctors, prescriptions, diagnosis, misdiagnosis. All of that is valuable and without credential.

So while I do recognize the value of your skepticism, I reject a blanket censorship of this dialogue among laypeople. There are plenty of nuanced options here.

I want people to weigh in their experiences, living with injury, disability, mental health, their enlistment of medical professionals, with the studies they have partaken outside of an institution.

I mentioned a group of people I took shelter with when our crew turned toxic

I agree that we need to put trust in professionals, and protect the process that they went through to get those credentials. I agree that we shouldn't put trust in strangers about medical opinions without good cause.

But I would also argue that experience can be achieved outside of credentials.

One of the groups I've sheltered with since has a large presence and focus on mental health with all of the things you describe. And watching each other proactively and positively engage when members are being toxic was a real eye opener.
