With armor in particular there's already a big "copy of a copy" problem where fictional armor is increasingly based not on real world armor but on earlier fictional armor, so it gets more and more implausible and off-looking. AI is only going to exacerbate that.
Been thinking on the use of GenAi for mood boards. Ethics and legal risks aside, I truly believe using GenAi as references deprives one of many pivotal things.

I think a lot about how Harlan Ellison said in an interview that Agatha Christie’s work would be forgotten five minutes after her death, and (by implication) his work would live on, and nearly the opposite has occurred. I’m not even sneering at Ellison. Just how we don’t understand posterity.
