I deeply resent the current regime has me writing protest songs. It’s pretty good though, imo. You should watch the video and do the YouTube interactions (like/comment etc.). First song I’ve written on the baritone ukulele rather than the piano.

What Fr Dowling is doing here was not just "offering communion to detainees". A full on Eucharistic Procession is a really fucking big deal. In Catholic theological framing, those folks were the honor guard with the very great privilege of escorting Jesus himself to the detention center.

I think ICE should be abolished. We should create a new agency focused on whatever kind of immigration enforcement we think is reasonable. But ICE needs to be razed to the ground.

Thanks for the reply. It’s a thing many atheists do believe, and it’s moronic, but in some ways it’s just a more intense version of “religion is a net negative for society” — which, if we’re talking across the course of global, human history is, let’s say, under-argued. So I wondered.

Not great. We appear to have had a domestic-violence shooting about a block from our house this morning. We heard more than a dozen gunshots and minutes later about ten police cars converged on the scene. Neighbor says it was the house of a woman whose daughter moved home fleeing a psycho boyfriend.
