I always think about piers morgan and his homophobia of the 90s, he wrote it, it got published by an editor , and he faced not one consequence.

Reflecting on what's missing in some issue-based novels I've read over the past couple of years.
I think it's that they don't confront/challenge the reader enough. Instead the writer and reader cosy up on the side of a blameless protagonist who is pitted against a straightforwardly nasty world.

Very important, because this is very clearly what crackpot campaigners, politicians and press have always been hoping will happen: the public will correctly understand they’re being urged to rise up and hound transgender people on their behalf, thus resolving any issues without recourse to law.
An important point to come out of the Sandie Peggie case is that 'gender critical' employees can't take matters into their own hands and confront trans employees. If they do that it is likely to be harassment/ bullying/ a hate incident.

The shingles vaccine could lay me out for a week and I'd prefer that to shingles.
All over my FB people talking about their bad experiences with shingles vax and dissuading each other from getting it! We need to give people real info on how to mitigate the symtoms caused by vaccines because vaccines are always better than meeting a virus unprepared. Yet drs aren't coaching ppl
