There are two universal constants in college football: Penn State losing big games and Bobby Petrino showing up as a coach somewhere.

And we can stop framing people with autism as having something wrong with them, that’s a good start.

I heartily endorse this decision.

Ulrich Zwingli would absolutely have long, threaded posts that would lose the plot pretty quickly and turn into debates about the most obscure liturgical bands and how most people "don't get their music."

a golden retriever sits on a living room floor looking over his shoulder. he looks extremely nonplussed. on the gray sofa in front of him, two kids are perched practicing trombone. the dog is going to work on his poker face before their first recital.

As a history teacher, this has me SCREAMING. This is educational malpractice.

my daughter came home from her first day of 10th grade and said that her history teacher told her that if she refuses to use AI for assignments, she has to cite her sources.

i asked how she’d cite it if she used AI, and she said, that’s not required.

i’m still internally fuming up about this.

Chris Cuomo posting a deepfake of AOC the same week that Jim Acosta “interviews” a deepfake of a school shooting victim are both harbingers of how traditional media power players will help usher in the worst of the AI slop era

Look at how serious Altman is when saying it. That’s…actually…his plan. 🤯

Good lord these are dangerously stupid people.

From the replies (bsky.app/profile/dasb...) here's Sam Altman doing what the quoted post described. He seems serious about it.

I like being a human being who makes decisions about this one wild and precious life I’ve been given, even when it is sometimes annoying or overwhelming. It is life and it is meant to be lived. I do not want robot-mommy-slave to do that for me. Thanks anyway though, ya freak.

Zuck of 2025 is telling Zuck of 2004 to hold his beer.
You don’t schedule meetings, it does.
You don’t organize your travel, it has already booked it.
You don’t wonder what job to apply for, it is already editing your résumé and simulating the interview.
You don’t ask what to wear, it saw your calendar and laid out your outfit.

“I couldn’t strut around like Mick Jagger, or smash my instrument up like Jimi Hendrix or Pete Townshend: bitter subsequent experience has taught me that if you get carried away and try and smash up a piano by pushing it offstage, you end up looking less like a lawless rock god and more like a furniture removal man having a bad day.”

As I wrap up my 20th year in the classroom, I was honored to be chosen as the graduation speaker by the senior class - hopefully my speech was inspiring, but I'd honestly settle for "mildly humorous and not entirely boring."
