the democratic party’s basic problem is it has almost no control over how its message reaches the ears of voters, especially outside of presidential election years. but rather than devote serious time, attention and cash to that problem its consultants and pundits want to fight factional battles

Q: One theory on how you might try to serve a 3rd term is that you could run at the vice president

TRUMP: Yeah, I'd be allowed to do that. But I would rule that out because it's too cute.

Everyone who can should donate to their local food bank now. any help matters.
AND this is a good way to see the power of government to provide public goods that benefit everyone.

Science and medical cures are the same. Private money and philanthropy cannot fully replace public support.

NEW: For years, the Phoenix nonprofit Keys to Change has run a mail room for thousands of homeless people.

Now the U.S. Postal Service is cutting its $24,000 investment, leaving the organization to raise the extra money to keep it open.

Interviewer: “How long is this sustainable?”

Food Bank Director: “Wow, um, it’s not—it won’t be from the first day. For every meal that a food bank provides, the SNAP program provides 9… It’s not sustainable for food banks to fill this gap. We were not built to do this.“

This is absolutely tragic.

My big takeaway from Trump's lengthy Air Force One gaggle is that he's talking about shredding the Constitution by being in office for a third term increasingly openly.

If you don't think he try it, you're in denial.

Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.
Er, OK Mike. Perhaps you are a little unclear on your job?
