Marvel made a promo poster out of this for retailers. On tan paper with the image and text in black.

Back in the day, I would stop at this newsstand on the way to school and buy comics. The guy who ran it sold me his for four dollars. Meant I couldn't buy comics but was worth it.

I think a lot about when long-running comics are basically "finished" even though they can run for decades afterward. They can be revived if someone comes along with a new twist, but the comic as conceived originally is over (I'd argue that Spider-Man ended decades ago).

'... lost the Star War' aside, DOTF was bad. And Trevorrow didn't get the fact that they were trying to end the trilogy/saga and was ignoring everything that came before.

I genuinely pity people who think keeping Kylo Ren evil was a good idea. It was set up since The Force Awakens that Leia would be the one to save him down the line.

Keeping him evil and killing him evil is a fundamental betrayal of the franchise's core themes of redemption and forgiveness.

Palpatine was the loving parental figure during that time. It reinforces that.

Besides, Palpatine did love Anakin as the perfect final part of his plan.

Nevermind the fact that he uses it twice in Attack of the Clones.

Sidious is the master of lies. He knows psychology.

And given that all Anakin had early in life was love, and then having lived for the past 13 years without a loving parental figure, Palpatine knows exactly why that lie would work
