I have Native American friends here in real life that are terrified to leave the reservation because of this. They don't want to be profiled for the color of their skin by racist cunts that just see "brown" and profile them for it. They don't want to be kidnapped, manhandled, and disappeared.

As a child my sister who is not Indigenous was in a TB sanitorium in Saskatchewan with children, many of whom were Indigenous, straight from residential schools. Once home, she told us that many children shared their stories of RS abuse. Over one year, children would come and go, same stories.

most the trump signs i see in between towns here are hanging off of farm fences. most farm owners i have met are nepobaby land lords that want to bring slavery back. that said we should be concerned about food production, not coddling multi millionaires who currently own the means of production.

There are places in the US where you can legally practice midwifery without a license IF and only IF you are an Indigenous person/member of a closed society like the Amish caring for other people in that same community. That's it.

Also, doulas are extremely important resources but they're not providers of medical care. They provide clinical information that people use to make their own decisions. Doulas and midwives do not have the same function and are not interchangeable.
