See also: BAFTA's "Game Beyond Entertainment", which ends up as a catch-all for games with PoC in them + social impact games. While it's an honour to be nominated for a BAFTA I was utterly baffled that *Thirsty Suitors* a game about fighting your hot toxic exes and wuxia cooking was in this category
On Games for Impact:

“It's good that it's there, but it's also, in a way, kind of insulting. Because giving a special award for a game for actually meaning something or having some human content... we should be aspiring for that in every category."

Folks might not know a lot of people are getting *very* upset that the materials they request are not available in the libraries/archives they're requesting from.

We're getting lots here at the Library of Virginia: requests of documents likely surfaced by large language models that *do not exist*.

I’ve been alive for a few waves of tech skepticism around what is ubiquitous today, but the thing is, the sort of people who were dead convinced that something like, say, the internet had no broad appeal, highly paid tech sector types, are the ones now trying to convince us that AI is inevitable.
“AI is clearly sticking around so you have to get used to it” wrong. I don’t have to get used to shit. I am a practiced hater and I can keep this going for decades if I am required to

Thanks to all who played and reviewed and gave feedback to our first game.
It's a wonderful thing for a bunch of weird performing arts people to have made something that people deem "very positive" on Steam 🥳

Horses Is Tame
Horses, the indie game that is too scandalous for either Valve or Epic, is only beyond the pale if you're not familiar with any other art form.

Saying «AI is just a tool» might be the laziest form of aggressive ignorance. As a statement, it's ultimately both trivial and almost meaningless, serving only to free you from further thought so that you can use the gadgets without caring about their preconditions, implications, and consequences
Also this by Rafman: "What I still don’t understand is this whole idea of ‘ethical AI’. To me, even framing it that way is already problematic. AI itself isn’t unethical – it’s a tool." That's naive at best (I'm trying to be very understanding here).

So I recently finished playing Mini Mini Golf Golf by @threemoreyears.bsky.social and I think you might have some common stuff to talk about.

They're tackling climate collapse through the lense of a simple golf game, merged with Immortality-like segments you have to decode. It's really good!
