Had hospitalization #4. Diagnosed with IIH after a lumbar puncture. Gotta do a whole other type of imaging since my colon is weird & im still bleeding & got pain and other issues. Struggling to afford transportation.

i have managed to make a full time living as an artist from being entirely self taught, largely learning how to draw while homeless and working low wage jobs, idk maybe if you can't commit to doing that, what that really means is you don't really want to make something

if the barrier to entry to being an artist or writer is so low then just make art and write novels without AI. but you can’t do that can you.

There are basically only two positions in the debate about AI.
1. I’ve barely invested any time in learning how to use it effectively. AI sucks.
2. I’ve invested in learning how to use this tool. Holy cow, it’s transformational.

Position #1 has lower barriers to entry.

This is the part that our historical memory of decolonization always omits. It was never about the consciences of the colonizing countries being moved, an empire has no conscience. It was about them no longer having enough people to hold onto their colonies post-WW2

A reminder that no matter how much money ICE has, they don't have enough people to disappear us all. We outnumber them by a lot, they know it, and they're really hoping we don't. The immediate consequences for opposing them are a lot less than the long term consequences of letting them loose

Tangentially related, but a year or so back my family did our annual rewatch of A Muppet Christmas Carol, and the Disney+ version had this whole song edited out. Like, a pretty major one that showed how Scrooge’s obsession with his work drove away the one person he loved when he was younger
