We were so proud to print, "That Little Seam by Your Left Ear" by @xtinemakepeace.bsky.social! Her piece is dark, thoughtful, and rich.

If you haven't read Salon Sinister yet, consider this a small taste of what you're missing... Grab your own copy to read this and more amazing queer horror.

My contribution to the "Matthew Lillard is good" conversation is that I liked his directorial debut FAT KID RULES THE WORLD, one of those too-rare movies set in Seattle and actually filmed here instead of Vancouver.
Fat Kid Rules the World | VERN'S REVIEWS on the FILMS of CINEMA
The only reason I heard of this indie teen movie is because it was filmed in Seattle. That's kind of novel to us because most Seattle-based movies are really

When we talk about physical media, we are often only taking about personal collections but a big part of shunning the current digital ecosystem is supporting your local library. Not just for print books and periodicals but for movies, games and other medias too. Get. A. Library. Card.

I can’t get over how Barbie succeeded because it offered tangible ways for women and girls to celebrate each other (and dress up and go to the movies together) but studios thought it worked because it’s about toys so now they’re making like Bananagrams the movie

The top word is English followed by how it is written in the Cherokee language followed by how it is spelled in English then how to pronounce it phonetically.

Funny to see this post today because last night I was at a Q&A where Peter Bagge mentioned sympathetically that Crumb had retired until now partly because of seeing Me Too happen. His point was that modern sensitivities make it harder to do some kinds of art, but it also made me think "Hmmmm..."
Bob Crumb coming out of retirement just to say "RFK Jr. is right about vaccines and my ex-wife should've taken more advice from me" is such a fitting end to Boomer Americana and everything the "alt-comix" movement claimed to stand for

Matthew Lillard is a national god damned treasure, not only as an enjoyable as fuck actor, but as a D&D ambassador and co-owner with his friends of Beadle & Grimm's (makers of the best D&D accessories on the market.) The only person who looks worse for Quentin shitting on him is fucking Quentin.

I feel so genuinely grateful tonight and I’m full of good holiday vibes. Eek.🎄❤️

Tarantino is washed.
I also sincerely doubt Tarantino will make another movie. All this stray shit talk (on Bret Easton Ellis' fucking podcast) smacks of professional jealousy. I don't think he has the sand, and I think it's tearing him up inside.
