Like, if you are gonna be repentent, just do it. Do it without applause because it is the right thing to do. No need to spin it as an "interesting story". There is no need to center ICE, even if it is repentent agents. They are not the heroes. Everyone who resisted and survives ICE are the heroes.

Also, the BIPOC in ICE are not gonna get a pass either. I can already see white supremacist journalists and media folks tokenizing BIPOC ICE agents to justify the centering of ICE agent stories.

It’s telling that the cover of the album isn’t a picture of D’Angelo himself. It’s a scanned frame of 16mm footage filmed at the Afropunk Festival in 2014 that pictures the crowd raising their hands in protest at the killing of Michael Brown.

What D’Angelo said Black Messiah means. It came out at the end of 2014 and it was so needed.

I've realized that a whole lot of smart and well-informed people are overestimating the value and potential of "AI" tools because they underestimate how smart and well-informed they themselves are and how much expertise they bring to the interaction.

I have studied conflict and movements for social change for a while with the intention of trying to be a movement chaplain (I'm in higher ed right now). This is to say: you cannot pay me to argue with some edgelord who has not participated in social movements about the frog costumes. Absolutely not.
