In my district in 2014 progressives ran for party seats and that empowered more progressives in 2018 and that (duplicated in many places) is how the LA County Dems endorsed Gascon, Bass, and Bernie.

You can say what you like about the outcome but all of those folks won their respective races here.

Our local party is mainly older women who have been tirelessly keeping things going for decades. We also have a bitter old guy who's a reactionary bully that sees himself as the gatekeeper of local politics. We need more hands and more voices to supplement the former and drown out the latter.

The clip is just 13 seconds long too, so it's a very intentional thing. We've got a Nazi government.
