Those Guard troops were ordered to leave DC a full week ago.

If Trump and Hegseth had obeyed that order, this would not have happened. Because they would not have been there.

With all the Trump bluster about obeying orders, he should start obeying them.

“[Eventually] humanities depts will be forced to accept AI-authored assignments, as part of revised university policy to cooperate with these billionaires. It's already happening, and our response needs to be decisive. Because our students' ability to *think* is at stake.”

really important thread ⬇️
An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.

"As ICE officers continue to arrest the most violent criminals nationwide"

Any news article, that uses these words isn't a serious news source.

They are arresting innocent people left and right to meet quotas, and they are getting violent ones by accident.

Re-read that last line twice.

Creating a military conflict with Venezuela gives this administration a legal "hook" to invoke the Alien Enemies Act. In other words, the foreign war is being manufactured in order to facilitate court deference for its domestic mass deportation policy. It's a Stephen Miller Special.

Exactly 80 years ago this precise moment (8:40am Hamburg time, Nov. 30, 1945), German submarine commander Heinz-Wilhelm Eck and two of his former subordinates on the U-852 were shot by Allies in Hamburg for killing the survivors of a ship they had sunk. Pete Hagueseth needs to lawyer up immediately.
The Peleus War Crimes Trial

Congressional Republicans let Trump put an alcoholic rapist in charge of the Pentagon, an anti-science kook in charge of our health, and a 22 year old intern in charge of counterterrorism.

These people do not act as if they actually care about Americans or the constitution.

I think calling them “the boat strike murders” rather than “war crimes” is good messaging. The public at large is confused about what war crimes are. But they damn well know what murder is.

If this reporting is accurate, Secretary Hegseth ordered a murder and must be held accountable.

This is probably why he is so concerned about Senator Kelly and my colleagues’ warning about illegal orders. www.washingtonpost.com/national-sec...
