"Wikipedia isn't trustworthy" is shorthand for "you should actually bother to check the sources, because stupid/wrong shit can be
'verified' with a bad source, & also the particular version of an article you see might be radically different from later, more scrutinized versions"

Does anyone else remember teachers gaslighting you into thinking wikipedia wasn't trustworthy even though everything on it has to have references and sources?

It's also shorthand for "I am trying to teach you how to research things and evaluate information/misinformation.
Training you to use only one website that you trust absolutely is in fact: bad"

And then at some levels it's short for
"dear god, we've gone over this over and over, college papers have to use PEER-REVIEWED SCHOLARSHIP, no
encyclopedias are going to count as peer-reviewed scholarship. Just plug your topic into the library database I'm begging you"

"I read that it's as accurate as the encyclopedia brittanica" yeah dude you aren't allowed to use that either! The point of this paper is not to get you to look up the dates of Jane Austen's birth and death it's to get you to read argument &e about her work and respond to them

I’ve been focusing on how I can have fun without having to feel like I have to also be, this game called #TheBluePrince has been quietly saving me. It scratches my puzzle and love for old weird houses itch while also being fun. I’ve started making tiny physical tiles of the Blue Prints!

Aferah, for a personal project, 2017
Aferah, an illustration by Eleonor Piteira of a woman in profile standing on a desert. Framing her head is a gold sun like a halo, and her long dark hair becomes the night sky behind her, with two pale moons among the stars. On one hand she holds a 4 leaf clover and on another a gold cup tilted down, a gold river pouring from it.

Me and a friend were literally talking about The Chosen and The Beautiful this morning so I’m taking this as a sign that it must be Nghi Vo appreciation day.
Ah see, we are strangers and you haven’t ever interacted with me before nor do you follow me so I have no context to read the tone you left in my mentions.
After having done this last year and lived to tell the tale, here I am again 18 hours later and just fine!

Why don’t you worry about yourself?
Cat grins in the camera with a cheeky smile, hand underneath her chin like “aren’t I so cute?”
Being strong IS Allowing yourself to rest ❤️
(As someone who’s still learning this myself)

When those Most Frequently Banned Books lists are all books from dead authors, it kinda suggests to me that they’ve accumulated an outsized amount of bans since they’ve all been around a long time, much longer than books by living authors. I don’t think William Golding needs your dollars right now.
She’s the reason I’m addicted to coffee still even after quitting it twice. I imprinted on her as a teenager and never looked back.

Under the moonlight, you see a sight that almost stops your heart
Also had to share this as I’m accidentally full librarian today with my outfit now that it finally got rainy and cold.
Accidentally peak librarian with a bun, glasses, lanyard, cardigan, and dress.

“I could talk for a very, very long time about our mistreatment and abuses in our imprisonment. Trust me. But that is not the story,” Thunberg said during a press conference following her release.
