I experienced exactly this recently, but even worse, it was used to write technical acceptance criteria based on a misunderstanding of the technical requirements by a non-technical product team member. I asked them to never do it again, pretty please, as I had to redo EVERYTHING

My job hit us with mandatory Copilot sign up and training so they could brag to investors about our AI adoption rate. In reality no one outside of management is using it, and the way management is using it is actively making our lives worse. Our PM is using Copilot to write our Jira tickets????

Cosigning this. Nobody has lost their job yet, but senior management has taken to responding to critiques of AI-oriented plans with "maybe you aren't the right person for this project", and I no longer have any interest to engage critically with this at work.

1. I’ve barely invested any time in learning how to use it effectively. AI sucks.
2. I’ve invested in learning how to use this tool. Holy cow, it’s transformational.

Position #1 has lower barriers to entry.

As much disdain as I have for Large Accounts that do a bunch of venting on main like they're smol beans, I have a ton more for the army of followers who swarm people like "they're a human being, don't police their expression of emotions!" This is the same as simping for favor from the rich.
