The Feds, LA County is (correctly) saying, have CAUSED the emergency.

This is a striking political moment of internal collapse. Local govts feeling compelled to protect their ppl from … their own govt.

When I studied the Second World War I genuinely could not understand how the Germans found so many people to participate in their worst excesses. And I mean across the whole war, not just concentration camps.

At 14 I learned to walk with my keys between my fingers, never walk past a van, on a deserted street, walk in the middle of the road…and if a man comes after you, fight like hell.

If someone wearing a mask grabbed me, I would assume that they were a rapist, who might murder me.

When I lived in LA, I avoided driving in the rain whenever I could, because people there just do not know how to handle it.
For some reason it makes them drive FASTER and more recklessly than usual, as if they are in some sort of fight for who is in charge, them or the weather gods.

for over four months I’ve reported as Trump has put troops and federal agents in cities across America. more than ever I’m seeing and hearing from people pushing back — standing up for immigrants, democracy and members of our military who don’t want this.
