Drew Struzan was the greatest movie poster artist who ever lived. We can’t think of so many of our most beloved movies without thinking of his art. I had his 1978 Star Wars re-release poster hanging on my wall for years. RIP to a true legend in what is sadly now a mostly lost art form.

Today’s middle school tour had a STEM teacher’s board read “Students will learn how computers perceive the world and learn the positive and negative effects of AI”

Rest in peace, Drew Struzan. His movie posters are much more than marketing. They're some of the finest pop art you'll ever see. Look at this masterpiece:

RIP D'Angelo, the greatest singer since Marvin departed. Who took the grit & attitude of hip-hop & alchemized it into angelic voodoo. He condensed the human condition - sex, suffering, addiction, love, oppression - into pure transcendence. A comet emitting blinding light & soul.

D'Angelo was remarkable in so many ways. I'm saddest right now, as a fan, that we won't be getting an eccentric late period from him. His contributions remain inestimable but what he would have made in his 50s and onward, I just know it would have been amazing. RIP

Drew Struzan authored the visual style of our mind’s eye when we think of pop culture cinema. We remember and think of Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and others as he painted them.

Torn up hearing about the passing of Drew Struzan. He's had such an influence on my art and imagination since I was a kid. No one's ever done it better.
