Broadly: this is the problem all over. It’s the voters.
The problem is not the pardon power. The problem is us. We weren't supposed to elect a crook as POTUS. If we did, the people we elected in Congress are supposed to do something about it. We're idiots, so we've elected crooks & cowards all the way up the line.

The problem is us. We need to fix us.
Giving the president the pardon power was a mistake. The most corrupt president in American history is conducting a jailbreak for his fellow criminals.

A lot of people trashed @timmiller.bsky.social for interviewing her. But it put a light on her. And she looked awful. Now this.

So…what happened with the Times? What explains this story now?

He’s not covered by the pardon because of how it was technically phrased, but an obvious question to ask at his next press gaggle would be why Trump isn’t pardoning the pipe bomber, another of his violent supporters who apparently had the same motive as all the other Jan 6-ers he pardoned.

My guess is late Trump term they’ll start trying to earn back credibility by ruling here and there against him. And they’ll expect a Democrat to honor it all as legitimate.
A court with a normal-ish conservative majority would have been tolerable. I'm not eager for court packing, impeaching justices, and other such options. But this court sticking around post-Trump is untenable. They've already torched their own legitimacy, the only question is what do we do about it.
Democrats need to lay the groundwork for reform by attacking the villains on the Supreme Court - loudly, angrily, personally, relentlessly. And they should start now.

It’s fascinating how there’s just no subtlety here at all. Using his own sexuality as a dig at Fuentes, calling him a horror. And yes, Fuentes *is* a horror. But not because he may or may not be gay.
Milo Yiannopoulos tells Tucker Carlson that one of his regrets is “mainstreaming homosexuality in the GOP”

He adds that something that keeps him up at night is the “gay horrors” he’s given birth to: Nick Fuentes and Lady MAGA (a drag queen).

Fuentes regularly refers to Milo as a “Jewish pedophile”

Stranger still: health/age was THE issue in the last election. But only for one guy. And it continued to be an issue and continues to be one now. A bigger issue than this.
It really is amazing that the president has a noticeable an unexplained physical ailment that is disfiguring his right hand and there's no reporting about it. The White House's line is that it's from Trump shaking too many hands! Something is clearly being covered up.

It was crazy she got another job to begin with. But this would have been a fireable offense and major scandal for any other administration.

Overall, our standards are declining.
Not to defend Olivia Nuzzi, who broke every rule in journalism and promoted a charlatan to his current position. But it's incredibly telling that she will lose her job, but RFK Jr. gets to stay in his job despite the reports of his drug use, his affairs and his defenestrating of public health.

They’re thrill killings. Murders by psychopaths for psychopaths.

They’re not trying to justify the killings to themselves. They don’t care. The ability to just will without justification because you can is where they get the thrill.
Extrajudicial killing as fan service.

The combination of things here suggests the US is currently engaged in serial thrill killings.

1) We have no idea if they’re smuggling drugs

2) killing them wouldn’t be legal if they were.

3) We’re pardoning drug traffickers left and right here.

4) We’re killing survivors (witnesses) who…

This is pretty much it for the Court. The Court’s legitimacy is at stake.
The entire debate over birthright citizenship is anti-constitutional because the purpose, intent, and text of the 14th Amendment were designed to foreclose any argument about who counts as an American citizen.

That’s the end of democracy. Not just the gerrymandering. The threats of violence as part of the electoral process.
Indiana state House Republicans have passed a new congressional gerrymander intended to turn their 7-2 majority into 9-0.

It’s unclear whether they have the votes to pass it in the Senate, where many Republican holdouts have been swatted or received bomb threats from Trump supporters

It’s all transparently bullshit and immune to rationality, but if struggling to stabilize half a burning boat to avoid drowning is “getting back in the fight,” what they’re really saying is there’s nothing the survivors could have done to avoid being killed. And that definitely isn’t the law.
