Not being a jerk is a shockingly underrated hiring strategy.
look, one reason workplaces started making us all go to HR's "be polite to others" class is because you alienate people when you're a bigoted asshole, and that can lose you both talent and business www.ft.com/content/8e6d...

NEW: Attorney General Letitia James on Tuesday announced a seven-figure settlement with a Manhattan demolition company, following a sprawling three-year investigation into allegations of workers compensation fraud going back nearly a decade.

That, too. I'm all for it.
Perhaps there's a way to co-publish stories in the existing ethnic media organizations or something, but I just think folks shouldn't be limited due to a language barrier.

Tomorrow is a major hearing in California's case against Uber and Lyft on behalf of drivers attempting to recover over $1 billion in wage theft. Uber et al have stalled negotiations for years.

Drivers and supporters can call or email their support for a strong settlement here:

I'm not sure it's something you could just plug into Google Translate or whatever. Now that I'm learning a second language, I see how flawed those tools can be. You'll need human translators, which I know is yet another expense, but still.

Sir a second group chat with racist young Italian American Trump staffers from New York outer boroughs and Long Island has hit POLITICO
EXCLUSIVE: Embattled Trump nominee Paul Ingrassia told Republicans that the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday should be “tossed into the seventh circle of hell” and that he has “a Nazi streak,” according to a group chat viewed by POLITICO.

While I know there's an existing ethnic media ecosystem system in the U.S., I still think English-language media should make an effort to translate our reporting into other languages. Not just immigration stories, but other stories that impact non-English-speaking audiences.
Ever since Open introduced Sora, I've had to debunk so many AI videos for loved ones. It's honestly scary.

Grateful to @prismreports.org for the space to cover whats happening in my community as transphobia deepens at a national level and to @deanspade.bsky.social for offering framing beyond the individualism usually associated with unemployment
Jobs alone cannot solve trans unemployment, @but-im-kim-tran.bsky.social reports. A complex matrix of poverty & punishment fuels the trans unemployment crisis, as community members experience roughly twice the rates of joblessness as cisgender people.

It was never about the economy. It was about people deluding themselves into thinking that the suffering of others wouldn't impact them. But we're interconnected whether we want to be or not. We're each other's business. We always have been, and we always will be.
