anyways. the struggle between maga and freedom is not new, but a struggle that goes back to the founding of the republic--a slow-rolling religious civil war, two sides of a schism on what the meaning of america ever was

now it is simply our turn to take up that fight

It is not remotely controversial or outlandish that being born in a country should make you a citizen of that country and attempts to convince us otherwise are unserious.

If I attempted an insurrection & the administration after me not only failed to enact consequences but also allowed me the opportunity to come into power again I would also learn the lesson that I can do whatever the fuck I want and nobody with power will ever try to stop me.

Elon Musk is about to become the first trillionaire.

The reason poverty exists in the wealthiest country on earth isn't because we can't feed the poor — it's because we can't satisfy the rich.

We should tax trillionaires out of existence.

A male rock ptarmigan (Lagopus muta) in winter plumage.

Ptarmigan is from Gaelic 'tarmachan' meaning "croaker". The p- was added when people mistakenly assumed it was a Greek word.

$20 billion could end homelessness in the US

$40 billion could end hunger globally

Both would still only cost 3/4 of what Meta blew on Mark Zuckerberg’s obviously bad ideas because nobody would tell him they were stupid because he’s worth over $200 billion because he doesn’t pay his share of taxes
Mark Zuckerberg’s gamble on the "Metaverse" has lost his company more than $77 billion.

This is 100% correct. The people running this country right now believe that the arts are as much a liberal indoctrination mechanism as they believe academia to be. They hate anything they can't control, anything that promotes creative and independent thought.
It's hard to even talk about the crushing losses in arts funding this year while the broader context of the world is so horrifically violent. But if you look at all of this as a struggle — either FOR or AGAINST hope and humanity — it becomes clear that the arts are in fact a key part of that story.

These 2,900 individual billionaires could lose 75% of their wealth and still be richer than 4 billion people.

Inequality is eating the whole world alive.
There are now 2,900 billionaires, and they hold $15.8 trillion.

The wealth of the bottom 50% of the global population, over 4 billion people, is estimated at $3.7 trillion.

It's kind of mind-blowing how these tech dorks think they're so smart and have the utmost confidence in their genius, while actual smart people are constantly doubting themselves and critiquing their own arguments.

Increasingly tech is seeking to solve for the problem "humans exist," which is what you'd expect to see in a system where humans are seen as a cost and not a value.
“Humans get tired; some days are better than others. The AI does not get tired. It doesn’t get grumpy. It doesn’t have a bad day. The AI is consistent,” says Juan Espinoza, vice provost” demonstrating that humans can be profoundly ignorant and make vibe-based decisions.

The oil and gas industry (Exxon) have committed the greatest crime against humanity and now are trying to escape justice. They knew their products would create the climate devastation and death we are facing today in the 70’s. Age of Rage coming…
Big Oil is "wildly desperate to dodge the growing array of lawsuits over the damage caused by their decades-long scheme to deceive the public about climate change," writes @aaronregunberg.bsky.social.

The fossil fuel industry is again urging the Supreme Court to help them escape accountability.
The Supreme Court’s Ethics Code Is a Joke. Big Oil Knows That.
Oil companies want the Supreme Court to intervene to dismiss lawsuits about climate change. Amy Coney Barrett and Samuel Alito both have big conflicts of interest on that front.

If Democrats want to regain working people, they must disavow Big Money.

They must hammer economic populism — and have a laser focus on the cost of living crisis in America.

There’s no way the party can speak for or represent the working class in America if it's beholden to corporate interests.
